Valley Arts celebrated their launch with a Casino Evening at the Hemyock Village Hall
The recession was briefly forgotten as those attending the event frittered away virtually tens thousands of pounds!
The black tie event was judged to have been a great success. Whilst the rain poured down outside the guests inside having been welcomed with a glass of bubbly enjoyed a lovely meal to sound of a live jazz pianist.
At the end of the meal guests were provided with gambling chips to the sum of £20,000 to play on either a roulette and or Blackjack Table. Having bought cocktails the ‘punters’ competed to see how quickly they could lose their chips whilst others skilfully accumulated virtual fortunes.
The High Rollers with the most chips at the end f the evening were, Karin Barker, Susan Tarr, Sandra Featherstone and Andy ‘Lucky’ Pinder. It was the case that Andy placed all his chips on number 5 (his birthday) on the last spin of the roulette wheel and won!
Valley Arts are now preparing for their autumn play a Panto – Beauty and the Beast. They are keen to widen the Groups membership so come along to a rehearsal which are held Thursdays in the Forbes Lounge of the Village hall
