Kilmington comes to Hemyock

Hemyock Baptist Church likes to vary their annual BBQ and the August event was no different. Hearing that Kilmington Baptist Church had suffered a serious fire to its premises leading to the loss of the main church building earlier in the year, the people at HBC wanted to show solidarity with the Kilmington congregation, and so invited them over to join in.
Called Picnic in the Park, the BBQ event was and was held on the Longmead sports complex in Hemyock. Besides the normal BBQ feast, tennis coaching, skittles, bouncy castle, face painting, football and rounders were also provided which led to the event being declared a huge success by those attending.
Pastor Darrell Holmes and his congregation were delighted to receive the invitation from HBC and said “ it was a cracking day, and we were bowled over by the effort that the Hemyock congregation had gone to in order to make the day so special for us”.
