This term the children of Hemyock Pre-School have been learning about construction and how to make objects using various items around the home and at pre-school. We've also been discussing our families and the activities we do together when we are at home.
To celebrate 5th November the children made firework display pictures and fireworks using lots of glitter and kitchen roll tubes...they looked fantastic! The children have made castles, shields, flags, crowns and armour for a castle theme. As well as paint trails with toy cars leaving different wheel impressions. The pre-school is hoping (weather permitting) to do large scale paintings. We are in need of old sheets and
empty squirty bottles, also some large Lycra fabric for play (approximate size 1-2 square metres). If anyone can help with these items, please take them to Hemyock pre-school, Parklands.
The children had a great time at the Christmas Bazaar, it really got them in the festive spirit and they are all looking forward to Christmas and especially their Christmas party.
Sarah Marrison will be leaving her position as play worker at the end of November. The pre-school thank her for all her hard work and dedication in caring for all the children, she will be missed. Sarah Cooling is starting her maternity leave at the end of this term, we send Sarah our best wishes.
The Wine and Wisdom event held in October was a great success, thank you to all of you who came on the night and for the fantastic feedback. We are very pleased to say the night raised around £500 for our pre-school! An amazing boost to our fundraising totals for the year that will make such a big difference to the children. We hope all the brain boxes who exercised their grey matter on the night are now fully recovered!
We would like to say a big thank you to Chris Bright for all his help at pre-school this term in assisting the tidy up of the garden, maintenance jobs and numerous trips to the dump with trailer loads! Parent help and support is always needed and greatly appreciated to keep our pre-school up and running! We are also looking for more Parent and Grandparent help during pre-school sessions, so all those interested
please add your name to out parent/carer help rota.
