Plans are underway for our next autumn production, the read through and auditions will be in June, if you are interested in being involved in any way just email valleyarts@live.co.uk. We held our AGM in February and reflected on a most successful year, we fulfilled our aim to break even financially in 2009 and even made a small profit which will be used to buy a licence and scripts, to set us up for our next show. We enjoyed a full programme of events and two stage shows; we hope to build on this success and agreed on the programme for 2010.The new committee were voted in they are: Chairman: Caroline Pinder, Vice Chairman: Gillian Hawkes, Treasurer: Sally Cartledge, Secretary: Stuart Summers, other committee members: Alison Robson, Julie Bailey, Tom Connelly, Bob Hawkes, David Steel, Alice Martin and Christine Stepney.
We had an outing to the Octagon theatre to see "Hot Flush", which turned out to be hilarious and had us all crying with laughter!
In April we are holding four dance sessions with Jo Elworthy, they are purely for fun and you don't need to come with a partner.
Jo is happy to teach a variety of dances e.g. salsa, jive and street, she will try to accommodate requests, so if you have a particular dance you have always wanted to try this could be your chance!!! The sessions will take place in the Parish Hall on the 15th, 22nd and 29th of April and the 6th of May 7.30pm - 9.00pm. Over 18's and over 16s accompanied by an adult are welcome, cost: members £2 per session, non-members £3 These sessions will culminate in a themed bring and share dance on May14th for more details visit our website www.valley-arts.co.uk. We are also holding two workshops on the 20th and 27th of May in the Parish Hall, please come along and join us; they will be based on the forthcoming autumn show and are always light hearted and enjoyable !
