I was very saddened to learn on my return from holiday that one of our members, Mac, had died. Mac and Joyce were two of the people I first met in the Post Office when I moved here five years ago and in fact Joyce invited me to the next meeting of the Gardeners’ Association. Personally I will miss the musical entertainment Mac used to provide at our social evening and the contributions he made to all our Committee Meetings. He was a lovely man who will be missed.By the time you read this our Spring Show will have come and gone. At the moment my garden has no daffodils at all so hopefully the weather will warm up a little in the next couple of weeks to ensure that we have some entries!!!
I’m still working on the Summer Visits so will let members have details of these shortly.
Another reminder for our Spring Fayre - this will be held on 8 May, in the Parish Hall, and is an opportunity to buy a wide variety of bedding plants at very competitive prices. Many of the plants will be from a local nursery, although members are also busily potting up additional items for sale. Tea and coffee will also be available.
Our next meeting is on 14 April, when Chris Birchall will be talking about Trees and Shrubs.
We look forward to seeing you all again then.
