While we're waiting for summer to arrive, the children have been busy learning about maps, animals of the world, how to gather information, quantities, how to be healthy and are encouraging choice. Finnley Dearsley, Jacob Root, Grace Pepperell and Solomon Davy have joined Pre-school this term, a warm welcome to them all!

The children are looking forward to the Pedal and Push event on Friday 18th June. The day was a huge success last year, thoroughly enjoyed by all the children as a fantastic healthy outdoor activity riding their bikes and trikes, we're hoping its success will be covered again in the local news!

This Year's Pre-school Summer Outing is on Friday 9th July. A coach will be leaving in the morning to go to Pecorama in Beer, there will be places on the coach if anyone is interested in joining us, please contact Sarah Kenny.

We are very pleased to announce that Hemyock Pre-school is now registered with Ofsted to care for children from the age of 2 and a half. The initial feedback has been fantastic and parents are pleased their children will have the opportunity to start enjoying Pre-school earlier! The committee continue to look to the future and make improvements to the Pre-school, working with parents and needs and requirements of children, we welcome all suggestions.

Thank you to everyone who supported the 'Pickle Your Brains' fundraising quiz night. It was a fantastic night and raised great funds for the Pre-school, the positive comments are really appreciated and helps keep the motivation and enthusiasm up in order to raise the valuable funds needed for our village pre-school. The Chapel Cafe Coffee Morning during the Easter break was a great success, thank you to all those who helped, supported us and to the Baptist Church for kindly donating the proceeds of the morning to the Pre-school!

There are some great summer Pre-school fundraising events planned including a Village Scavenger Hunt on Saturday 31st July. A great family, fun-filled day starting with a walking scavenger hunt around the village, suitable for the whole family, followed by food, entertainment and live music! It's set to be a fantastic day!

We will have fundraising stands at the Wallace's Farm event on Saturday 12th June and St. Mary's Church Summer Fayre on Saturday 10th July, please come along and support us at these events, all contributions are greatly received.

A final plea... for any Tesco or Sainsbury school vouchers that you have hanging around, please donate them to Hemyock Pre-school in Parklands. The vouchers are used for much needed new equipment for our charity run Pre-school, every voucher counts!

You can add your child's name to our waiting list at any age, even from birth! We will contact you when the time comes to enrol in the Pre-school and claim funded hours of learning through play. Please contact Sarah Kenny on 01823 680726 for an information leaflet, informal visit or to add your child's name to the waiting list or to register interest for the Pre-school Fundraising Team. We'd love to welcome you aboard!
