Acorns Update

This Group who meet in Forbes Lounge in the village on the third Wednesday of each month have had an interesting year.  Though saddened by the deaths of two members recently the Meetings have been much enjoyed.

With talks from Spence Kingdon on his boyhood, musical entertainment with Brenda Persey. Education and amusement from Dr Gavin Haig plus an enlightening talk on Dementia. This proved most informative and not too dull. Members were pleased to hear that only one per cent of the population are likely to be afflicted..we had all thought it much more.

The Chairman is Mary Hawkins who always makes visitors very welcome. There is always a cup of tea and an excellent raffle organised by Joan and Rosemary.

In the next few months the subjects will be ShelterBox with Roger Lambert. George and his dog continue with their travel tales and Dawn Canham is giving a talk on Stage Costumes.
