Thank you to all those of you who supported our Spring Fayre last Saturday - we were completely overwhelmed by the numbers and apologize to any of you who did not manage to get the plants you hoped for. I’m sure it is something that we will do again and next time we will ensure a plentiful supply!! Our thanks also to members who kindly donated plants for us to sell, in particular Jane Smith who had been exceedingly busy over the past few months potting up a huge variety of plants and also to Sandra for providing most welcome cups of coffee and cake.
Our Spring Show earlier in the year was a little disappointing with a lower number of entries than usual but this was to be expected after the dreadful winter/spring. The winners of the various trophies are shown below:

We had a wonderful evening with this month's speaker - his talk was accompanied by the most beautiful photographs I’ve ever seen of wild flowers coupled with some very entertaining folklore!! I will not attempt to repeat any of them for fear of mixing up what leaves one should boil up and eat with those that are made into a paste to apply to the skin!!! The results could be catastrophic!!
During the Summer we leave the Parish Hall and go out and about on visits. The first one is on 9 June, when we will visit the White Post Nursery in Langford Budville, so not too far to travel. We are promised a tour of the nursery, a guided walk and then cream teas (very good according to Tim and Sandy!). There is also an opportunity to buy plants at a discount. There is no charge for entry, just £3.50 for the cream tea or £2.50 for tea and cake. Meet in the Parish Hall car park at 6.00pm to organize car sharing.
Details of our meetings in July and August have been posted to members but if anyone hasn’t received them or is unsure as to what is going on please do give me a call.
