How the Year seems to be flying by! The summer term is now in full swing and the children have been enjoying the sunshine. Outside play proves very popular and helps release the excess energy that little bodies make!! Whilst inside, the children have been learning about Easter, Experiences and the environment in which they live. Once again it is time for 'spring planting'! Beans, sunflowers and cress are all being carefully watched and nurtured on kitchen windowsills by budding horticulturists! Great excitement when the first shoots appear and a cress sandwich can be shared!
In March the Children and Staff all came to Pre School in their night wear and raised £25 for comic relief!
This term we 'welcome' Alex Parker, Lottie Evans, Nathan Hodges and Paige Knight. Children have also enjoyed having Matthew Starkiss, an apprenticeship student, help during sessions, as well as the regular parent help. As the term progresses Patsy Preston, a member of our Pre School team, will be leaving us. Patsy has worked within Pre School for many years and will be missed by staff,
committee and children. We appreciate all the help she has given us over the years and wish her well in the future.
Sessions and Lunch Clubs are very busy. Such is the demand, that we are opening another Lunch Club on a Monday 11.30am - 1.30pm. We now have a rapidly growing waiting list, with several sessions and Lunch Clubs already full to capacity. Due to this increased demand, if you want your child to attend the Pre School either now, or in the future, Please put their name on our waiting list ASAP. This can be done from birth onwards!! For more information, Please contact our administrator, Loraine Beckett on 680125 or by email loraine@somersetlife.com
For information on session content and learning through play, please contact Jenny Doble (Play leader) on 680174.
Fundraising remains important as we look to putting the finishing touches to our portakabin. Work has already started on our own secure outdoor play area. Ideally we need to install double glazing for the winter; replace some of the older external doors as well as maintaining the general upkeep of the building to ofsted requirements.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Easter Bingo, we must have seen a record breaking crowd! Also thank you to those of you that brought Easter egg hunt tickets, well done if you were lucky enough to win some goodies! Thank you to the businesses who had the maps in their premises, your support is always valued.
Onto our future fundraisers…….
