Hemyock Scouts To Experience Camp 1907 Style

Members of Hemyock Scout Group will be heading to Denmark on Saturday, July 21st to meet up with old friends as the groups celebrate the 35th anniversary of their friendship.During the two-week visit the youngsters will enjoy a seven-day camp together with a further week of home hospitality.
While camping they will be taking part in the worldwide Sunrise Ceremony as Scouts renew their Promise at 8am local time on August 1st, in the centenary year of Scouting.
Founder of the movement, Mr Baden-Powell, held the first camp on Brownsea Island and the members of Hemyock and Tonder are delighted that they will be camping on a small island and that the programme of events will closely follow that of 1907.
Other activities include swimming, raft building, barbecue, sports, woodcraft, first aid and a visit to Danfoss Universe.
