Christmas seems along time ago now! The new term seems well underway!  There are fewer children per session at the moment, although this should increase again by the spring.

Our main theme this term is 'All about me'; this will include looking at the environment and people that help us. The children will also be learning about Chinese New Year. Daily activities such as dressing up, painting, junk modeling and outdoor activities continue as normal. The Children are thoroughly enjoying playing with a beautiful new outdoor Playhouse given in memory of Erin Thompson. They are also eagerly waiting for the spring bulbs they planted to appear.
Our next big project is to have our building double glazed. Thanks to the generosity of the local community in supporting our fundraising events, we are hoping to have this done in the spring. This will make a huge difference not only to the temperature within the building, but also to our running costs, primarily the heating bill! We are also in the process of having a new security and intercom system installed, which will add to the security and safety measures we already have in place.

We are holding an Open Afternoon on Thursday 6th March 2008, 1pm at the Pre School. This meeting is open to anyone with a child currently at the Pre School, or those who are thinking of enrolling their child in the future. It will be an informal opportunity for parents to look around the building and meet the staff, as well as discuss the curriculum and the running of Pre School. Please do join us if you can and see what we have to offer your child.

Although it seems a while ago now, a huge 'thank you' to everyone that supported our fundraising events before Christmas. The 'new look' bazaar was a tremendous success, even making a double page spread in the local press! It was great for us to be able to support and promote local businesses and benefit Pre School at the same time, plans for next years bazaar are already underway!

The Bingo too went well and we are planning an Easter Bingo on the 20th March, doors open 7.15pm, eyes down 7.45pm in the parish hall. A summer bingo in June looks likely, dates and times advertised in due course.

Our Annual Easter Egg hunt Maps will be in circulation soon, this will be drawn at the Easter Bingo with fantastic Easter eggs and goodies as prizes. Please do continue to support Pre School events; we are hoping to soon replace some of our Play equipment and toys that have been much loved over the years! We strive to provide a service to the community that benefits young children and their families, so it is great when the village can get involved!
