Spring seems to have arrived in a rather blustery way, but the children are enjoying playing outside when the weather is favourable.
Our open day was a success, with new parents having the opportunity to look around the Pre School and ask the staff questions. We hope to make this a regular event, so please remember to tell your friends!
This half term the children are learning about, amongst other things, People that help them and Easter. We will be welcoming Harry Beacham, Sacha Dewer, Luke Golding, Ciaran Handforth and Alistair Shaul to the Pre School.
We have been fortunate enough due to your support with our fundraising events to now have the double glazing installed as well as a replacement fire door. We are now in the process of replacing our 'tired' toys and equipment. A brand new, purpose made kitchen area is soon to arrive with new 'utensils' for little cooks to make some fantasy gourmet lunches! A new dressing up rail and outdoor play equipment are also on order. We are also in a position to do some more tarmacing around the perimeter of the building as well as plastering our retaining wall. All this is paid for from money from our fundraising events, so a huge 'Thank you' to the local community and businesses for your support. Without your donations, we wouldn't be able to function at the level we do. Our basic fundraising also has to support the purchase of everyday items such as glue, play dough, paint etc; so you can really see why fundraising plays such an important part in the running of Pre School.
Moving on to fundraising events………We hope to have enjoyed a successful Easter Bingo and Easter Egg Hunt by the time this goes to print, so thank you in advance if you supported these events. As our Bingos seem to be popular, we have introduced a Summer Bingo. This will be held on the 26th June 7.15pm in the Village hall. Although the summer term is always quieter from a Fundraising point, we still have the Pedal and Push planned for June. Look out to for information about a new exciting event……A Wine and Wisdom evening……..get your thinking caps on and start persuading your friends to form a team…..more info soon!
On a practical note, if you have a child who is approaching 3 years old and you would like them to attend Pre School, or you wish to find out more, please contact Helen Golding (administrator) on 681525. We do have a waiting list system, so it is advisable to put your child's name down, even if you are not sure when you wish them to start, Helen will call you near to their 3rd Birthday. Your child will be entitled to 5 free 2½ hr sessions per week from the term after their 3rd Birthday. We also offer lunch clubs on certain days; these are not covered by the free sessions, but are offered at a reasonable rate and are very popular, so please indicate when you put your child on the waiting list whether you are interested in Lunch clubs as well.
