In October Mary Hawkins agreed to continue as chairman. It has been a successful year with a varied selection of speakers. Annual Subscriptions will remain at £5.00. When the business was finished Mary introduced Chris Draycott who came at short notice to tell of his family connections with life in India. So good was the record keeping this had been a fairly easy task but he has not been able to ascertain why his Great Grandfather went there in the first place in 1858.

In November names were taken of those wishing to attend the Christmas Lunch at the Catherine Wheel on Wednesday 17th December 12 for 12.30pm

Mary introduced Isobel Ward who was a Parliamentary Secretary for 18 years. She served under several MPs and enjoyed working in such an amazing building steeped in 700 years of history. All agreed she was an excellent speaker.

The Chairman told members that in January there would be entertainment from the ever popular Brenda Persey and in February Bill Bennett would give useful information on 'Making a Will' and also 'Power of Attorney'.

Mary thanked everyone for their company especially those serving excellent refreshments and the Rosemary and Joan for their amazing raffle.

Hemyock Acorns meet the third Wednesday of each month at 2.45pm. Visitors are always very welcome.
