Hemyock Men were entertained and challenged in equal measure when visiting speaker Vic Dunning from Texas spoke on “ending the race well” at their monthly breakfast.

Using what he decribed as the three pillars for a fulfilled life, Vic talked about character, relationship and faith.  On character he highlighted the need for clear thinking, the value of positive words and maintaining a strong morale.  In the area of relationship he encouraged men to cherish friends, have a mentor, and to invest what is learned in other people – to be a mentor to another.  Vic concluded the session at the Catherine Wheel by saying that in his experience going God’s way had always ended in a good outcome when making the big decisions in life.  Jesus said “I am the way” and Vic encourged the large group of men attending to find that way for a contented and satisfied existence.  His final statement summed up the session well.  “Though you cannot go back and make a brand new start, anyone, starting from now, can make a brand new end”.
