The current financial climate might mean that people who have not experienced money difficulties in the past suddenly find themselves with mounting problems. HBC Money Wise is a budgeting service being launched by a local church which is available for anyone to use – at no charge.
Budgeting is the first step for anyone in debt who wants to be in control of their money and the task of the Budget Coach is to prepare a simple but effective household budget. The Budget Coach helps people get their financial information in order, provides support and refers them to specialist agencies when this is needed.
Stewardship Services a national charity which is raising up teams to help society at this critical time has trained three Budget Coaches at Hemyock Baptist Church. Budget Coach David Berkley commented “we really hope that the take up rate will be small, but we are ready if the need arises. The Church has always been there to support people in good and bad times and this is an example of that support”.
