Three Churches featured in a talk by local Baptist Pastor Steven Reed when he was guest at  the recent Hemyock Women summer BBQ.  Around 30 women heard Steven speak warmly about three churches that had particularly helped him in his journey of faith – all of them interestingly from the Methodist denomination.

Chard Methodist Church was where a neighbour took him and his young brother to Sunday School and opened a young boy’s heart to spiritual matters.  Thomas Street Methodist Church in Portadown NI was where, as a soldier, he finally committed his life to faith in Jesus Christ with a view one day of becoming a Pastor.  In 1986 it was at Park End Road Methodist Church in the Forest of Dean that he married his wife Hazel under the ministry of Josey Cunanan a minister from the Philippines who gave the couple a service with a south east Asian flavour   .

These churches and the people that attended them were God’s means of guiding his life to becoming the Minister at Hemyock Baptist Church said Steven.

The next Hemyock Women event will be a visit to Taunton Fire Station on Saturday 18th July.  Contact Terri Wheeler on 01823 681342.
