Another year nearly over! It has been a very busy time for the children of Hemyock Pre-school. We have welcomed our new Play Leader, Lucy Fishwick and also our new Administrator Sarah Kenny.
Lucy has made a huge impact on our Pre-school and presents a happy image every day.
We also welcome Sennon Hollow, who has come from Japan to visit his family and our Pre-school until the end of term. We know he will have a great time.
Our fundraising coordinator has been hard at work raising funds and I am proud to announce that we have raised a whopping £1,140, since March. This total has amounted through our Easter Bingo, Easter Egg Hunt, Pedal & Push, Easyfundraising website, Bag2School event and the smartie tubes filled with collected coins. A further £50 contributed to the massive figure by the preschool's talented face painting team at the school fete. Congratulations to Sharon Hawkins, recently raising £30 for her sponsored slim.
The Pedal & Push was a fantastic event, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves on their bikes and trikes & in the process raised £288 sponsorship money with more to be collected. You may have seen the event publicised in July's Blackdown Hills Newspaper and the Wellington Weekly.
Our thanks go to Delia Sampson for her generous donation of £250, part of the proceeds from the Hemyock & Culmstock Horse Show. Such a huge amount is greatly appreciated and will go towards well needed equipment for the children to enjoy. We wish you luck with this year's show and hope the sun's shining!
Many thanks to everybody who have donated, sponsored or helped out with raising these valuable funds!
We'd also like to say a Big ‘Thank you’ to Brendan Kingston, Neil Thompson and Stuart Root for giving up their free time fitting the new kitchen during half term. It's improved the Pre-school tremendously, mainly with the cooking activities.
We've had a lot of fun and learnt about lots of new subjects in the past year. Themes this term have included, Travel Agents, Holidays, Clothes, Food, Beach, Weather and School Summer Holiday which everyone will be looking forward to!
We had a smashing day out on the summer trip at the Fun Farm. The children enjoyed seeing all the animals and feeding the lambs. The brave among the little ones even held snakes and lizards! A fun filled time was had by all.
This term we say goodbye to Harry Beacham, Kelise Billett, Ruby Cooper, Sacha Dewar, William Don, Luke Golding, Ciaran Handforth, Edward Kimber, Jake King, James Livermore and Samuel Persey who are all moving up to Primary School in September. We wish them the very best of luck and will miss you all!
We're excited about the coming year and we're looking forward to meeting our new starters in September.
