Can You Help?

Volunteers with the Blackdown Support Group travelled nearly 50,000 miles in the past year driving local clients to appointments at hospitals, doctors, dentists, & opticians, with the occasional shopping trip added to the mix to keep things interesting. Our volunteers are coping fairly well with current demand for much of the time, but we need a few more people to make sure that we can always help those in need of transport, and to ease the load on our current drivers during holiday periods or to cover for sickness. Mileage expenses are reimbursed.
Volunteers also visit isolated people in their own homes or give respite to carers. Over time, firm friendships have been formed. We are always seeking people who would like to give their time in this way.
If you have a few spare hours on an occasional (or regular) basis and would like to offer your services to the local community, please contact Barbara at the BSG office on 01823 681036.
