Fortified by home made cakes and warm brews supplied by club members, Hemyock Tennis Club raised over £550 for Sports Relief. Undeterred by the weather, this enthusiastic tennis club - which enjoys the facilities of the Longmead Field Sports Centre with 3 all weather courts and a club pavilion - played continuous tennis from 9am to 9pm on Saturday 21 March (a particularly cold and wet day) with the benefit of floodlights in the evening.
Dan Loftus, the club coach who inspired the event, said "I am so pleased at the result and the commitment of our Members since we decided to do this at quite short notice. Best of all, everybody enjoyed themselves and it was a great atmosphere in spite of the weather."
