Once more Hemyock is gearing up to welcome the Tour of Britain, Britain's premier cycle race, and not just for one stage, but for both of the South West stages on 14th and 15th September 2010. At around lunchtime on both days, the Tour will pass through Hemyock.

On Tuesday the cyclists come from Wellington, over the northern ridge and through the village.

On Wednesday the cyclists will race into Hemyock once again, this time from the west through Culmstock. They will then face a steep 1 in 5 climb, a sprint along the straight, fast ridge road, then on to the finish at Glastonbury.

The Blackdown Hills are a fabulous area for cycling, whether racing, touring, training or simply exploring the hidden valleys and villages.
