The famous 'kissing gate' in Station Road, Hemyock needs a new home or it will soon be scrapped says the Parish Council. Its historic and unique construction, whilst robust, proves to be an impassable barrier for mums with buggies or prams. The District Council will soon replace the gate with a more modern and accessible barrier system, but what will become of this piece of Hemyock history? Parish Vice Chairman Ian McCulloch said "it would be very sad simply to scrap the gate and we are appealing to the public for ideas of where it could go".
