Exhibitors are being sought for Fibrefest 2007 this autumn. The plans for the fibre showcase at Bridwell Park, Uffculme, in September, are taking shape, and the deadline for exhibitors is Wednesday, May 30. Val Grainger, a co-organiser from the Blackdown Hills Fibre Group, said it would have 100 stalls in the huge marquees, and feature exhibitors from across the UK and beyond.
The event has been given £7,800 in Leader+ European funding, administered through the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership in Hemyock.
It is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2 and will be open to visitors from 10am to 5pm on each day. The programme includes a variety of workshops and lectures including specialists in indigo, tapestry weaving and hat design.
Louise Cottey, co-organiser, said: "Anyone with an interest in fibres will find something of interest at Fibrefest."
During the weekend there will be opportunities to take part in workshops at Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme's working wool museum. Tours of the mill will be available throughout the festival and there will be a 'Spin In' on the Saturday evening."
