On the afternoon of Sunday 1st July, Hemyock Tennis Club is holding a mixed-doubles tennis tournament for players around the Blackdowns. The idea is to have a sociable afternoon of fairly gentle tennis (+ tea and cakes), and, in the process, to raise some money for the Blackdown Support Group. Entrance fee is £6/person to include refreshments. Balls will be provided and there will even be a prize for the winning team!

After the tournament there will also be an opportunity to try out some new racquets from Tony Pryce sports shop. If you would like to take part in the tournament please contact Julie Steed on 01823 680787.

If you're not a tennis player yourself, but know someone who is (especially anyone in any of the surrounding Blackdown Hills parishes), please tell them about the tournament. This is the first year we have put on a tournament like this, but, if it's a success, we would like to make it an annual event.

Spectators are also welcome of course - so forget Wimbledon on the telly and come and enjoy live action tennis over tea and cake. To help with catering, please let me know if you will be coming to watch.
