It’s never too early to……. Start packing a shoebox for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Appeal.

Over recent years 100s of shoeboxes packed with gifts for a child in need have left the Culm Valley and Wellington/Tiverton area. Can you help with this year's appeal?

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Appeal.is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project delivering boxes to the neediest youngsters regardless of nationality, political background or religious belief with 1.24 million being sent last year from the UK alone.

What should you pack?  Due to import regulations everything must be new but - toys giving a child something to love, educational supplies giving something to do, hygiene items giving something to use and other items such as something to eat or wear. All you have to do is pack them into a brightly covered shoebox (freely available from any shoe shop) and deliver it to your nearest collection point along with a very small donation towards transport costs
It is absolutely essential to use the official leaflet and these can be obtained from the address below. Boxes can also be delivered to this address but this MUST be before MONDAY 12th NOVEMBER

If you are a keen knitter and have some spare wool the organisation have 2 very easy patterns for knitting hand puppets which can also be used as mittens. More importantly they can act as a ‘friend’ to a child who may be lonely. These patterns can be found on www.samaritanspurse.uk.com or can be obtained from me.

Your generosity really can bring love and hope to a child this Christmas
