The largest national cycle race, the Tour of Britain (used to be called the Milk Race) is coming through Hemyock on September 9th 2008. This is one stage of the race, and it will go from Chard to Burnham on Sea. More details, including a map, are available here and here The cyclists should be going through about 10:50am. Their route is down Pencross Hill (more fun if it was up!), up Station Road and along the Culmstock Road. Presumably traffic will be controlled for a time as they go through.
If anyone has any ideas on how we should celebrate this event, perhaps linking it to an eco-friendly encouragement of cycling, please get in touch.
