A few weeks ago I received the leaflets reminding me that once again the charity will be running the appeal from now until early November.
Many of you have supported the Shoebox Appeal in recent years and been extremely generous in your donations. For those who have not come across the charity before they aim to meet critical needs of child victims of war, poverty, famine, disease and natural disasters throughout the world. Samaritan's Purse are the world's largest children's Christmas project and with our help will continue to be so. The simple act of filling a shoebox with gifts for a child in some of the poorest areas of the world to be distributed for Christmas will give great joy, giving them hope and letting them realise they are not forgotten.
If you would like a leaflet giving all the details of what is required please let me know or pick one up from your church.
Last year a large number of beanie hats and glove puppets were knitted by various folk in the area. If you would like to help provide some for this years appeal the patterns can be found on the charity's website - www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk If you do not have internet access I will have patterns.
If you have any queries please get in touch with me
Many thanks
