Hemyock Under 11’s 1 Cullompton Under 11’s 3

With a big crowd this turned into one of the best games seen on a Saturday morning for a long time. The first part of the game was very even with the Cullie goalie making a great save from Brandon Hayman shot. This in turn woke up the Cullie forwards and they took the lead with a fine finish after a mix up in the Hemyock defence. Cullompton’s second soon followed after a long range shot which gave Bradley Jack no chance on the Hemyock goal. So at 2-0 down the Hemyock boys heads might have dropped but this was not the story. The second half belonged to Hemyock but a mixture of some good goalkeeping and poor shooting did not help and it was a big surprise when Cullie scored their third against the run of play. Eventually Hemyock did score from an own goal which just about sums up the morning. Everyone on both teams played their part to make this such a good game between two very determined teams. Mention for Hemyock should go to Bradley Jack in goal and Liam Travers in defence who must have covered every blade of grass. Also mention should go to Tom Perry on his debut who is a year younger then the rest of the players but did not let this show.
