Hemyock Under 11's played against a very strong and big Beacon Knights and were very much underdogs as the Knights play two leagues up from the Hemyock boys. On a very windy day the boys started very strongly with Mike Ellacott and James Churchill controlling midfield and Liam Travers and Tom Perry causing problems up front. It was James that had the best chance but as he rounded the keeper he put the shot just wide. It was against the run of play that the Knights took the lead with a great header that gave Bradley Jack no chance. In the second half and the wind against them the boys knew they would be busy but with Josh Allen, Ashley Venn and Jack Aldred outstanding in defence there was not much that got through to Bradley. As the half progressed the Knights strength started to show but it was not until the final 5 minutes did they score a second.
All the boys should take great credit from this result and it was a very proud manager at the end knowing that they had given it their all.
