Harvest Festival was celebrated at St Mary’s Church, Hemyock on Friday evening followed by a bring and share supper.

The service was conducted by Rev David Sherwood with readings given by Roger Lambert, Meg Palmer and the Rector. The choir anthem was ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and as is usual the church had been beautifully decorated with flowers, fruit and vegetables

The supper held a surprise for church organist Rev Ron White when he was presented with a cake, by Warden Mrs Mary Beal, to celebrate his birthday. Rev White later kept everyone amused with a Jan Steward reading in Devonshire dialect
