The coming week will be a busy time for St Mary's with the Christmas Fair, Christingle service and the Licensing of the Rev David Burton.
The annual Christmas Fair to be held at the Parish Hall on Saturday 3rd December from 2.30pm - 4.30pm will have the usual range of traditional stalls where you will be able to find gifts for family and friends as well as tasty cakes and savouries along with the possibility of winning a prize . Father Christmas is due to arrive at 3pm and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon.
The following day at 4pm will see the village Christingle Service being held at the parish church. Families are very especially welcome at this. One of the delights of this service is when the Christingles, decorated oranges holding a lighted candle, are handed out, lights dimmed and a carol sung. The collection from this service is donated to The Children's Society.
Wednesday 7th December will see Hemyock with Culm Davy, Clayhidon and Culmstock welcoming Rev David Burton as Priest in Charge of the Upper Culm Valley Mission Community. Attended by The Rt. Revd Robert Evens, Bishop of Crediton, the service will begin at 7.30pm and will be followed by refreshments at the Parish Hall and an informal opportunity to meet David..
Rev Burton will be preaching at St Mary's on Sunday 11th December at the 11.15a.m. service to which all are welcome.
