Hemyock Parish Council

MDDC is reviewing its Local Plan for the district to cover the period 2013 to 2033.  Options for planning strategy and potential development sites have been drawn up and published for consultation.

A ‘call for sites’ was carried out by MDDC in 2013, inviting landowners to suggest sites that might have potential for development.    These sites have been assessed and all those considered technically achievable are included in the Local Plan Review.  The options sites far exceed the amount of development that is likely to be allocated in the final version of the Local Plan and over the coming months MDDC will need to decide which overall strategy and which sites are most appropriate.

Within the plan 3 sites in Hemyock have been suggested by local landowners.  Land South West of Conigar Close (35 houses), Culmbridge Farm (80 houses) and land North of Culmbridge Farm (80 houses).  See attached map for more information.

MDDC held a meeting in the village on 12th February and the parish council held a separate meeting on 19th February.

Due to public demand, the parish council will be holding another meeting to discuss the Local Plan Review further on Thursday 6th March at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall.  Please come along.  Click here for agenda.

The consultation period is until 24th March.  It is up to all parishioners to let MDDC know your thoughts and comments on the plan.  The options consultation and associated documents are available to view at www.middevon.gov.uk/localplanreview.  You may send your responses through an online survey at www.middevon.gov.uk/localplanreview or email to planningconsultations@middevon.gov.uk or post/deliver to Local Plan Review Consultation, Forward Planning, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Tiverton, Devon EX16 6PP.
