At the end of the 24th November morning service at St Mary's church, Hemyock Mrs Valerie (Val) White was presented with a beautiful floral bouquet by Jenny Doble, a Churchwarden.Thanking Val for her 10 years service as Sacristan David Bawler, Churchwarden announced that following the retirement of Val the post would be taken over by Mrs Diana Cooper but appealed for anyone else who would be willing to be trained and stand in when needed.
The parish church of St Mary's Hemyock has held the service to welcome their newest Rector Rev Canon Rebecca (Becky) Totterdell to the Upper Culm Valley Mission Community. Rev Totterdell had previously ministered at Exeter Cathedral. The service taken by the Bishop of Crediton, The Rt Rev Jackie Searle saw a full church with over 130 attending.
Please note advance warning of a footpath closure.
Week commencing 23rd September - the parish council intends to resurface the footpath at the back of Castle Park which joins with the footpath at the back of the Doctors surgery.
It is anticipated that the work will take 5 days.
Please use an alternative route whilst the works are carried out.
Many thanks

The parish council does not support the above application. Below are the comments from the parish council to Mid Devon District Council:-
Dry in the west, cloudier with showers in the east.
Staying largely dry with plenty of clear spells across most of Devon and Cornwall. Cloudier across eastern parts with scattered showers, these turning wintry, especially over high ground. Icy stretches and frosts are likely under the clearest skies. Minimum Temperature 0 °C.
A cold start to the day with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers will ease by the evening to leave clear skies. Another cold night with frost. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.
A cold start on Monday, turning cloudy with outbreaks of rain. Sunny spells and scattered showers on Tuesday. Dry with sunny intervals on Wednesday. Milder.
