Hemyock Parish Hall Committee are applying for a grant to completely update the play area, to have a rubberised surface, swings, play table and multi-use equipment, plus replace the surrounding fence.

Maintenance Person Required

The parish council is looking for a maintenance person to do a variety of tasks on an annual contract. The contract is for approximately 50 days per annum (it is recognised that the tasks and hours will have seasonal fluctuations, requiring more effort in the summer months than winter) and the types of work involved will include cutting verges/hedges, strimming and weeding, maintaining council assets, benches, signs, play areas, noticeboards etc. If you are interested in tendering for this contract please contact the clerk by the end of April 2017.

If such delights as fruit tarts and crumbles, tiramasu and trifle, fruit fools and similar desserts arefoods you enjoy then the Church Room on Friday 24th February is the place to be. Starting at 7pm and for a small fee of 5 you are invited to try as many of the delicious puddings which will be on offer by the Friends of St Mary's. Wine will also be available.

Rather cloudy through Sunday with rain or drizzle gradually easing.

Today:

Rather cloudy with only limited brightness and patchy rain or drizzle through much of Sunday. This will clear southwards later in the day with drier conditions to follow and some brightness. Fairly breezy at first but with winds easing. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

After a dry evening with some sunny intervals, cloud will gradually thicken from the west overnight but it should remain dry. Turning fairly cool in more rural spots. Minimum Temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

After some early brightness, cloud will continue to increase from the west. The odd spot of rain is possible by the afternoon but staying dry for most with light winds. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Unsettled throughout with showers or longer spells of rain that will turn heavy at times. Despite this, there will be some brighter spells and feeling warmer in any sunshine.
