Palm Sunday, 16th March, will see the choir of the parish church of St Mary's, Hemyock lead the traditional procession from the Parish Hall to the Church for the morning service. They will leave the hall at 10.45am. All welcome

Villagers in Hemyock are being invited to a meeting at 10.30am on Saturday 8th March at the Parish Church to hear about possible alterations within the building that are being considered by St Mary's Parochial Church Council.

A number of suggestions have been put forward and these plans are on display at the back of the church along with an explanatory leaflet.

Singer Joss Stone is supporting a campaign to find three valuable bulldog puppies which were stolen in a raid at her breeder friend's Hemyock home.  Dog-nappers stole the puppies, which were worth several thousand pounds, after breaking into owner Jackie van Meeuwen's home while she was asleep upstairs.

Couple End 40-Year Fundraising Mission For Children's Charity

After more than 40 years of fundraising, a Hemyock couple have decided it is time to take a break.  Brian and Margaret Wheaton have raised £22,058 for the Cullompton and Exeter-based charity Vranch House, which provides physiotherapy for children with significant physical difficulties.

Whilst for most of us the Christmas period is a time for joyful celebration with family and friends there have been those saddened by the loss of a loved one. A generally dry day with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells. The cloud may be thick enough to give the odd light shower, but most will remain dry. Winds will be lighter than on Tuesday. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Any showers will fade overnight leading to a colder night with a widespread frost under clear spells. Some patchy mist and fog may form by dawn. Minimum Temperature -1 °C.

Thursday:

A fine day on Thursday with plenty of sunny spells. Turning breezier along the south coast through the day so feeling colder here. Elsewhere, winds will be light. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry, cold and bright on Friday. Turning sunnier but progressively colder through the weekend with an easterly wind, making it feel very cold. Widespread frost developing overnight.
