The group was first started in May 2006 with the aim of bringing together everyone who enjoys walking in and around the beautiful Blackdown Hills in the company of other, like-minded people. Since our inauguration, membership has steadily increased to around 70 and the number of walks from 11 to 18 per year.

Phil, 31, and a team of friends are offering to spruce up people's homes to raise money for charity in memory of his late wife, Lynsey.

Singer Joss Stone is supporting a campaign to find three valuable bulldog puppies which were stolen in a raid at her breeder friend's Hemyock home.  Dog-nappers stole the puppies, which were worth several thousand pounds, after breaking into owner Jackie van Meeuwen's home while she was asleep upstairs.

Couple End 40-Year Fundraising Mission For Children's Charity

After more than 40 years of fundraising, a Hemyock couple have decided it is time to take a break.  Brian and Margaret Wheaton have raised £22,058 for the Cullompton and Exeter-based charity Vranch House, which provides physiotherapy for children with significant physical difficulties.

Whilst for most of us the Christmas period is a time for joyful celebration with family and friends there have been those saddened by the loss of a loved one. A cloudy and wet day with some heavy bursts of rain at times. It will become windy too, especially over exposed hills and coasts. Becoming increasingly mild from the far southwest through the course of the day. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Rain and cloud clearing through the evening. Occasionally heavy rain then returning to Cornwall and spreading across the southwest peninsula overnight. Remaining mainly dry but cloudy elsewhere. Minimum Temperature 7 °C.

Monday:

A dry and bright day with some sunny spells after early rain has cleared the south coast through the first part of the morning. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday, generally mild and cloudy with some light rain. Heavy, showery rain and strong winds then clearing on Wednesday with scattered showers following into Thursday.
