A couple from Hemyock have received a Devon County Council Foster Care Award to mark their 10 years of caring for children. Janice and David Bawler of South View, Hemyock, received their award, along with other long-serving foster carers, at a ceremony held at County Hall, Exeter, on Wednesday.

The last Around Hemyock article began with congratulating the Culm Valley Young Farmers' Club on some recent successes and it is good to do that again as they have recently celebrated their 60th anniversary sale and show held at Exeter Market which I believe was featured on a local television news programme. We also send them condolences on the death of past member Eleanor Dlugosz who was killed so tragically in Iraq.

This Evening and Tonight:

Rain and drizzle will clear through the evening, with many places becoming dry for a time. Occasionally heavy rain then returns across Cornwall and south Devon towards morning, moving eastwards. Remaining mainly dry but cloudy to the northeast. Minimum Temperature 7 °C.

Monday:

Early rain will clear the south coast through the first part of the morning. A dry and bright day will follow with some sunny spells also likely. Mild once again. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday will be generally mild and cloudy with some patchy light rain. Heavy, showery rain and strong winds then clearing on Wednesday with scattered showers following into Thursday.
