Hemyock Cricket Club are holding their highly successful general knowledge  Quiz Night again on Friday 4th April at 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall. Popular quizmasters Vanessa and Tony return for a seventh year. There is a £100 prize for the winning team. Tickets cost £30 for teams of between 4 and 6 members to include food. Tickets are available from the Post Office or from John Hurley telephone 07891 941306.

Saturday 7th December will once again see the Christmas Fair being held at the Parish Hall.  Organised by St Mary's Church with Culm Davy Chapel the afternoon, running from 2 - 4pm ,will see a host of traditional stalls including cakes and savouries, preserves, childrens craft and toys,  new items, raffle, delicious teas and mulled wine.

A special guest from the North Pole is also due to attend so do bring your children along to join in the fun.

Calling all young and young at heart!

The village annual Christingle service will take place at the Parish Church this Sunday, 1st December at 4pm.  This is a delightful short service which will involve children from the primary school and the presentation of Christingles to one and all depicting Christ as the light of the world. Do hope we shall see you there. DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED FOR A LOCAL FOODBANK - LIST OF REQUIRED GOODS OF TINNED AND PACKET FOODS IN LOCAL SHOPS AND CHURCH.

Today:

Cold, bright and perhaps frosty at first. Spells of sunshine through much of the day, but some will see occasional showers during the afternoon too, especially in the south and east. Feeling rather cold. Maximum Temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Lengthy clear spells for many overnight, though the skies will tend to cloud over in the north towards dawn. Chilly, with patchy frost and fog by dawn. Minimum Temperature -3 °C.

Thursday:

Mostly dry at first, though the skies becoming increasingly cloudy with patchy rain likely for a time. Gradually turning drier through the afternoon, with brighter spells to end the day. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Turning less cold. Brighter on Friday and Saturday with perhaps the odd shower, though there will be some sunny spells too. Sunday likely to bring outbreaks of rain.
