Hemyock Youth Football Club held its most successful AGM at the Catherine Wheel on May 11th.  Mark Jordan will continue as chairman, Liz Doble as treasurer and Claire Leach as secretary.  A committee of nine members was also elected so we hope the club will continue to thrive and grow.

Following a concert at St Mary's church Uffculme when £275 was raised for the Karen Action Group Hemyock Singers returned to their own village the following evening to give a superb performance of The Creation' which raised £280 for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice New Build Appeal.

This year Hemyock Singers have departed from their traditional Holy Week concert and instead will be performing The Creation by Haydn at the parish church of St Mary's on Friday, April 27 at 7.30pm under the baton of Musical Director Ron White.

I would like to thank all those who have offered accommodation to our French Twins who are due to arrive on Thursday 17th. May. If there is any one else who is interested in getting involved in Twinning there is still time to participate in the forthcoming visit. Just to remind you they arrive on Thursday May 17th late pm and departing on Sunday May 20th mid-day.

At the AGM of Hemyock Singers on Monday, 12th March, there being no other nominations, the present Committee were re-elected en bloc. The Treasurer reported a satisfactory situation, thanks to good ticket sales and donations. However, next year the accounts of the choral and stage groups will be presented separately.

Cloud and patchy rain edging eastwards on Sunday.

This Evening and Tonight:

Staying largely dry with clear spells, leading to a slight frost in some eastern parts. However, thicker cloud, less cold air and some drizzle will move into western Cornwall towards the end of the night. Minimum Temperature 1 °C.

Sunday:

Low cloud, mist and murk, along with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, will spread eastwards during the day. The rain could be heavier at times over the high ground. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday will stay mild and murky with outbreaks of rain. Tuesday and Wednesday will be drier and brighter, but with an increasing chance of turning colder, with widespread overnight frost.
