Wow!! Well done everyone for the tremendous efforts you have made in decorating your properties with Christmas lights - what a fantastic spectacle.
For many years the Parish Clerk and I have driven the various judges around the Parish for their assessments and selections for the prizes the Parish Council give out for the properties with the best Christmas lights displays. This festive season I was (for obvious reasons) confronted with 10 times as many illuminated properties than normal. The circular theme of unity and togetherness was uppermost in people’s minds and visible in nearly all the displays. Well done everyone for adopting this symbol. My judgment reflects this.
Once again we must congratulate the Lights Brigade for all their hard work and efforts in brightening the village, their community spirit and happy festive demeanour.
My thanks also go to my partner Debbie Pearse for organising the judge’s spreadsheet and her photographic expertise - not to mention her time spent checking house names and numbers!!
With the circular theme in mind I decided (as a one off) to introduce a judge’s category of Best individual circle of light.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
