Applications are currently being invited for membership of the Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd. Membership confers voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and other general meetings of the Trust. Members receive copies of the CLT’s Newsletter. Applications must be received by the Company Secretary by 21st September 2013.

Applications are currently being invited for membership of the Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd. Membership confers voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and other general meetings of the Trust. Members receive copies of the CLT’s Newsletter.
The Upper Culm Community Land Trust Ltd is an open membership, not-for-profit organisation – anyone who lives in the Hemyock/Clayhidon area can apply to join the Trust. Applicants must agree with the Rules of the Trust which may be found on the hemyock.org website at http://hemyock.org/article.php/20120813100859798 . Applications will be considered by the Trust's Directors.
Membership costs £5 (which purchases five shares with a nominal value of £1), and there is an annual subscription of £5.
Application forms are available from the Secretary at neilpunnett@aol.com. In order to attend the Trust's Annual General Meeting in October, applications must be received by the Company Secretary by 21st September 2013.
1.1 The CLT aims to:
1.1.1 Maintain or improve the physical, social and economic infrastructure within Hemyock, Clayhidon and their environs;
1.1.2 Advance education (particularly concerning asset based community development and enterprises with a community or environmental focus); and
1.1.3 Provide an opportunity for public-spirited people and organisations to contribute financially to the community, with the expectation of a social dividend, rather than personal financial reward.
1.2 Examples of the ways in which the society may carry out its objects may include:
1.2.1 Providing housing for those in need and help to improve housing standards;
1.2.2 Creating training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, buildings or land;
1.2.3 Developing new or existing services to the local community that contribute to the local economy.
1.3 Those objects are carried on for the benefit of the community.
