Prize Draw In Aid Of Hospice

Customers at the Spar store in Hemyock helped to raise £550 for a Taunton hospice following a prize draw. Christine Stepney, owner of the store in Hemyock, handed over the first prize of a bicycle to customer Stephen Findlay following the draw in aid of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice in Taunton.Stephen, from nearby Clayhidon, was the main prizewinner among others who won gifts including a hamper, flowers, and fruit basket donated by local suppliers.
Christine said: "We charged £1 a ticket and I would like to thank all my customers who helped us raise a superb total of £550 to support the new-build appeal for the hospice." Christine is celebrating 21 years of running her village store.
