Sampford Peverell have ended Willand's two years of domination in the Stones Men's Winter Tennis League. The back-to-back champs lost pole position to Sampford in the closing stages, while Hemyock weren't far behind in third place.
"Willand beat us soundly twice during the season, so we were lucky to end up ahead of them at the end," said Sampford skipper Simon Townley.
"We were lucky with a few strong results towards the end of the season."
The trophy will be presented by representatives from league sponsors Stones Solicitors at a special friendly match on April 23.
Sampford will host a team from Stones in a match to round off the winter season from 6pm to 8pm.
