Recorded Crime Falls

Recorded crime in Hemyock has fallen by 31 per cent in the past year, councillors heard at the annual meeting of Hemyock Parish Council.  Reporting to the meeting, PC Purkiss congratulated the council on being the most community-focused in the Cullompton district. Heather Stallard was elected as chairman, and Ian McCulloch vice-chairman at the meeting.

Sally Cartledge, Heather Stallard, Ian McCulloch, Roy Brookes make up the finance committee, while Richard Hart is in charge of the cemetery and Lance Povah footpaths.  Paul Steed is the Parish Hall representative.

All councillors are responsible for overseeing planning.

Councillors also discussed the launch of an emergency plan for Hemyock in the autumn. Fifty special emergency blankets are to be bought costing about £350. Some will be sold to the public at the monthly market for about £7 each with the remainder retained at the surgery.
