May was a very busy month for many of our members due to Devon county show. We had members taking part in a whole range of classes and activities after weeks of preparation we came home with awards for the club with most points in the cookery section, club with the most points in the static section and club gaining highest number of points in all classes. Also at the show, many of our members won individual awards. In the livestock section Kevin Davis won the overall YFC stockman ship at the show, Chris Manley won the YFC beef bullock, Sara Spiller won the YFC sheep Section and Laura Persey won the YFC pigs and
best Under 18 Stock judge of the year. Members also won other awards including Sara Spiller winning the overall points and champion butter maker, Emily York winning the overall points in the static classes and John Snell coming second and fourth in the sheep shearing competitions. The show was a huge success to the club and credit to all those who took part.
Some of our members had entries at the royal show in the beginning of July representing Devon which included three club flags and two pairs of decorated wellie boots, all of which selected from Devon County show.
We have also many sports fixtures over the last few months and our currently in the midst of the Tug-Of-War season which has seen the boys competing in many competitions and the girls will be competing at Honiton show as well as the boys.
A "good luck" must go to all those competing at Honition show in the young farmers classes and the showing classes.
