The weather has not been encouraging for tennis players this year but we have survived, and the patient ones have managed to find an occasional dry sunny day. Let’s hope we have more of those during the autumn as the “Men’s Sunday morning League” is starting up soon, we are continuing to have coaching with Dan Loftus and the Club sessions continue, with floodlights, if necessary.
CLUB SESSIONS - Thursday club session numbers have been dwindling, partly caused by the miserable weather but, also, because people have turned up and there’s been nobody to play with. Jerry Popham has agreed to be present every Thurs evening and, if he is unable to be there, Pete Gillett will. You can guarantee a game on Thursdays!! (They may not be there dead on time, 6.30! – so it’s worth hanging around)
COACHING - Our Club coach, Dan Loftus, is organising Coaching for juniors, 6 – 8 yr, Sept 10. to Oct 22. Cost £28 for 7 weekly sessions. We already have some booked, so get in quick! – ring Dan 07525187452.
He is also able to give private lessons for seniors and juniors throughout the winter –
Tel no. above, or, dannyloftus@hotmail.co.uk
BRITISH TENNIS - We have just 18 in the Club who have joined British Tennis. The LTA are anxious for us all to join and be part of the national ? It is free, and the more that join, the more Wimbledon tickets we get. We attached application forms with the e-mailed newsletter and hope that you can spare the time just to fill it in. Support your Club!
SUBSCRIPTIONS – there are still a few who haven’t paid this year’s subs. If you don’t wish to belong, please notify Anne Langford (680086) and arrange with her how to return the key (£3 refund).
Hoping for an “Indian Summer”! From the Committee
