Councillors at Hemyock bid a sad farewell to their Parish Clerk, Anne Kingston at the final council meeting ahead of local elections. Anne had held the post for 24 years and was retiring to spend more time in the garden and with the grand children.
Describing Anne as a “faithful and able servant of the community” Parish Chairman Heather Stallard thanked her for her “tireless service and exceptional local knowledge”. Councillors presented her with a picture featuring a special favourite of Anne’s – the owl.
At the same meeting three councillors stood down and were thanked for their vital service to the people of Hemyock: Rev Steven Reed, Paul Steed and Sally Cartledge. District Councillor Frank Rosamond gave his final report to the Parish Council ahead of the elections, although he was hoping that the electorate would favour him with a further term as their representative.
