Countess Wear 1 Hemyock 3

Last Saturday Hemyock under 15 went to Countess Wear in the latest league game. Usually this is a tough place to go and this was no exception. This week Hemyock had 12 players with new signing Nicky Pratt coming along to support his new team. In the 1st half he saw Countess Wear dominate midfield with their passing and movement being very good, fortunately in the final third they came up against a Hemyock defence that have been immense in the last few games. In Liam Travers and Joe Palmer they have two of the best central defenders in the league and with John Smith and Tom Berry supporting Hemyock looked very solid. With Countess Wear having so much possession in midfield Hemyock had to change their formation to counter this with Ashley Venn coming into the middle to help Mike Ellacott and this worked allowing Ashley Jaji to support the front man of Brandon Hayman. After this Hemyock had three 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper, unfortunately the keeper made 3 stunning saves to deny all three. Countess Wear were unlucky just before half time when their forward hit the cross bar.

So at half time the score was 0-0.
Second half saw problems for Countess Wear with a couple of players being sick which meant that they played the 2nd half with 10 players. This allowed Hemyock more room and were finally rewarded when James Churchill scored after an excellent cross from Louis Allan. The second then came from Ashley Jaji who slammed the ball in from close range. Unfortunately Hemyock then sat back to allow Countess Wear to dominate and it was no surprise when they scored from a brilliant shot which gave Josh Allen no chance in goal. This finally woke up Hemyock who came back and scored through a Louis Allan shot that gave the keeper no chance. So the final score was 3-1 to Hemyock. Credit must go to Countess Wear who even with only 10 players still battled and continued to play some great football.

MOM was Brandon Hayman who on another day could have scored 3.
