But Hemyock Singers did it great justice.
The large number of people who attended their Easter concert at St Mary's church, Hemyock were so moved that quite a few seconds elapsed before the church was filled with long and warm applause.
A mixture of sunshine and more prolonged spells of rain.
A grey and rather gloomy day across Cornwall and west Devon with cloudy skies and rain and drizzle persisting through much of the day. Drier and brighter further east, even feeling warm in the sunshine in the afternoon. Light winds. Maximum temperature 22 °C.
Cloud continues to spill northwards, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle lingering across the Moors. A mild, increasingly muggy night, rather uncomfortable for sleeping. Minimum temperature 16 °C.
Mainly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle continuing across the hills. Brighter elsewhere, with warm sunshine breaking through during the afternoon, though always the risk of a shower. Light winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C.
Warm with sunshine and scattered showers on Friday, before turning more unsettled from Saturday. Showers arriving from the south may become heavy, blustery, or thundery, bringing the risk of hail.
