Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Sunday, June 01 2025 @ 10:32 am UTC
Mid Devon District Council, in association with Devon County Council, Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) and Navigate Charity, have launched a Local Support Fund to support those whose financial situation has been affected by the current pandemic and are now out of cash for basic essentials for their household.
With all bus operators, the situation day-to-day is dependent on staff availability and may change quickly.
If a journey is of critical importance, for example, for a key worker, we recommend that you check with the operator concerned.

CEMETERY REOPENS
New Legislation Allows Cemeteries to Reopen
Following new guidance, issued by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, I am delighted to inform you we will be reopening our cemetery to the public from today.
Last week emergency legislation was brought in by Central Government instructing all burial grounds and crematoriums to be closed, as part of a host of new measures brought in relating to the Coronavirus pandemic.
In line with this legislation Councils closed cemeteries to the public, except for burials.
However, after seeking clarification about the legislation new guidance has been released and Hemyock Parish Council is pleased it can now safely reopen the cemetery, in line with the updated rules.
Anyone visiting must abide by social distancing rules and no one should be attending the cemeteries if they are showing any symptoms of illness.

CEMETERY CLOSED
It is with deep regret that we must comply with emergency legislation and close our cemetery to members of the public, unless a funeral is taking place.
We understand this will be a very distressing time for a lot of people who have lost loved ones, but we must comply to ensure the safety of everyone.
This is with immediate effect.

Sunshine and scattered showers. Breezy.
A dry and bright start for most, but turning increasingly cloudy from the west through the afternoon. A few scattered showers developing. Feeling cooler and breezier than recent days, especially along the coasts. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Any showers fading this evening to leave plenty of clear spells and variable amounts of cloud overnight with lighter winds. Chilly in the countryside. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
A largely fine and settled day with sunny spells and the isolated shower. Sunshine turning increasingly hazy from the west with heavy rain and strong winds arriving overnight. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
Early heavy rain clearing on Tuesday, with sunshine and a few blustery showers to follow. Drier on Wednesday with sunny spells before longer spells of rain return on Thursday.
