Welcome to Hemyock, Anonymous Friday, July 18 2025 @ 05:05 am UTC
Devon County Council has confirmed there is one other change to the Bus 20 Service.
The following changes will take effect from Monday 25th July:
- The service will no longer serve West Buckland, Somerset;
- The 1700 bus from Seaton to Taunton will terminate at Culmstock at 1820 and not carry on to Wellington and Taunton.
There are no other changes and the service will continue to be supported exclusively by Devon County Council.
Several parishioners have contacted me about Bus No 20. Somerset County Council is withdrawing its subsidy from the service.
I have contacted Somerset County Council who has told me . . .
There is only a slight change to service 20 as a result of the withdrawal of our funding, and this will only be implemented in the summer once the Colleges have broken up. The change is that West Buckland will be removed from the route, the service will continue to Wellington and Taunton.

Cloudy to start but becoming brighter later.
Mainly cloudy in the west at first with patchy rain gradually easing as it spreads eastwards. Brighter later, and in the east, with lengthy spells of sunshine for many in the afternoon. Feeling warm and muggy with light winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C.
Some late sunshine for many before skies turn cloudier through the night with sea fog developing along the south coast. Mainly dry but feeling warm and muggy for all. Minimum temperature 15 °C.
A mixture of sunshine and showers, these heaviest and carrying the risk of thunderstorms and hail in the east. Sunny spells further west, before rain arrives in the southwest later. Maximum temperature 23 °C.
Further showers are expected on Sunday with heavy, thundery downpours. Drier and brighter from Monday although a few heavy showers are still possible. Feeling warm in sunny spells.
